Most any grinder you take care of will serve you faithfully for years.  A nice solid four piece grinder is regarded as an essential part of any smokers collection for creating an expertly ground blend of tobacco that rolls burns, and smokes evenly.  More expensive or “brand name” grinders tend to produce a higher quality grind with more consistency of tobacco.  Higher quality grinders are also usually machined more consistently than lower cost or generic grinders.  You’ll notice lower quality machining as roughness in unscrewing and re-assembling your grinder regularly and the insides of your grinder may have a more rougher finish to them as opposed to being smoother or stylishly finished like high-end grinders tend to be.
